I recently sent off my order for an absentee ballot for our August primary in Missouri. I will return it quickly when it comes. At stake are several ballot issues that will affect the lives of all Missouri voters. Chief among them is a proposal to do away with our state’s income tax and replace it with expanded sales taxes. I will be voting against this measure as it substitutes regressive taxation for a long-established and fair graduated income tax,

I sometimes think that my state’s fine republican asshat legislators, puffed up as they are with self importance, must have frequent meetings about how they can most seriously f**k things up for the rest of us. My beloved has worked long and seriously against this misbegotten income tax proposal, and I intend to do my bit as well by voting against it.
