That night the housekeeper burned to ashes all the books that were in the . . . house. Some must have been consumed that deserved preservation in everlasting archives, but . . . in them was verified the proverb that the innocent sometimes suffer for the guilty. One of the remedies which the priest and the barber immediately applied . . . was to to close off and wall up the room where the books were . . . .

some of what’s in here . . .
I started a web years ago as a place to put things online for my classes. Since then I’ve published occasional pieces and sometimes reprinted things that had been published elsewhere. I’ve recently reorganized these pages and added a blog, and in doing so I’ve removed some information from the front page. If you need my address and phone numbers (which were formerly there), you can find them on my old UNT page. I can also be reached as julianlong29@charter.net
The reorganization is ongoing, by the way. From time to time you’ll see changes, sometimes large but mostly small. I’ll try to manage those so as to cause no inconvenience. Meanwhile, I’ve discovered that my blog, which used to be rated R, on the basis of my use of the words gay (5x), hell (2x), and hurt (1x), continues to be rated G on the basis of my use of the word shit (1x). Go figure. Here’s the badge, courtesy of an online dating website.
I maintain this page. If it changes, I’ve changed it, God willing.
